What is Eduroam?
Eduroam is a secure WiFi Internet access for staff and students at higher education and research institutions. If your institution is a member of Eduroam, you can use your usual username and password to access WiFi safely at other member institutions. However, we ask you to use your HEPL credentials during your Erasmus stay.
You’ll recognize the Eduroam network by its logo.

How to connect?
- Open Settings from the notification area or from your apps (in the app menu or drawer and settings).
- In the Settings menu, go to Wi-Fi. From the list of available networks, select Eduroam.
If you don’t see Eduroam, it may not be available in your current location. - Once you have selected Eduroam, enter the following settings according to your configuration. If the CA Certificate menu does not appear, click on “Advanced options”.

Configuration ∙ Scenario 1: CA Certificate menu available

- EAP Method: Select PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: Choose MSCHAPV2
- CA Certificate: Leave at (Unspecified) or do not validate system certificates
- Identity: Enter your HEPL username (e.g. @student.hepl.be or @hepl.be )
- Anonymous Identity: Leave blank
- Password: Enter your unique user password
- If there is a Privacy option, select Use device MAC
- Click Connect or Log in.
You are now connected to Eduroam!
Configuration ∙ Scenario 2:CA Certificate menu not available (greyed-out menu)

- EAP Method: Select PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: Choose MSCHAPV2
- CA Certificate: The menu is greyed out → select Use system certificates.
- Additionally, you’ll need to enter a Domain: “provincedeliege.be”.
- Identity: enter your HEPL username (e.g. @student.hepl.be)
- Domain: enter provincedeliege.be
- Anonymous Identity: Leave blank if this field appears
- Password: Enter your unique user password
- If the Privacy option appears, select Use device MAC.
- Click Connect or Log In.
You are now connected to Eduroam!
